Functions

Downward Purging

Release exterior and induce diaphoresis
Sx: green, watery and foul-smelling diarrhea, abdominal pain that increases upon pressure, fever, thirst, a dry tongue and mouth, SOB, lethargy, delirious speech. some patients present with constipation or firm, painful abdominal distention. in severe cases, there may be hallucinations and "grabbing at the air" or impaired consciousness with frigid, contracted extremities. T: dry, yellow or black coat. P: deficient.
