Functions

Downward Purging

Release exterior and induce diaphoresis
Sx: severe constipation and flatulence, focal distention and abdominal fullness, abdominal pain which increases upon pressure, a tense and firm abdomen. in severe cases, there may be tidal fevers, delirious speech and profuse sweating from the palms and soles. T: dry, yellow or dry, black tongue coating with prickles. P: submerged and excessive.


Composition:

da huang [add near end] 12g

mang xiao [dissolve in strained decoction] 9-12g

zhi shi 5 pieces (12-15g)

hou po 24g
