Location and Needling:
When the hand is placed with the palm facing downward, the point is on the dorsum of the hand between the 4th and 5th metacarpal bones, in the depression proximal to the metacarpophalangeal joint.
0.5-1 cun perpendicular
Contraindications and Cautions
Functions
San Jiao/Triple Heater,
Shu-Stream point, Wood point on Fire meridian. Mother point, tonification point.
Dissipates wind heat, clears the head and eyes, benefits the ear, strengthens hearing, restores consciousness facilitates the circulation of Qi.
Opens the meridians and loosens the joints, removes cold and expels wind.
